Copy the code & paste it in the “I’d Like to Meet: box“.
How do I replace the video with a pic/vid?
It’s about the first thing you see in the code.
Simply replace that code with whatever embed video or image code you want. Where can you get hold of videos? Many places. I suggest Vimeo.com for best video quality, but YouTube.com etc works as well. The video box is 377×306px. Make sure you are within the “img1″ div, when you add your new codes.

I figured out most of the coding on 2.0. Just can’t understand divs. If I could I’d be able to make your layouts work on 2.0.

Oh by the way, this is awesome. Make a red/black version, lol. I haven’[t seen a nice one like this in my favorite colors yet. When I do, I’ll fiddle with the divs and make them work on Profile 2.0, and share with you how I did it, so you can make more 2.0 styles. I created a div layout for my own page, but I can’t code for the life of me, when it comes to divs. And this is a badass layout.
You should make a built in thing on your site that will allow users to upload their PSDs into the site, and then it spits back out a code so you can use it as a layout. This way it’d be easy. Unless you know some links I can visit that will show me how to make Dreamweaver code divs for me… it confuses me.

Unfortunately no, I cannot use that as default font for the title, because 99% of the people viewing it don’t have that font in their font library – and will therefore not see it. I’m limited to use Arial, Verdana, Georgia, Times New Roman.
However, you can do as I did with the Darkness text. Turn it into a static image in photoshop and place it with position absolute. I already have a class for that in the code. Look for the .gfxlogo class.

This is an awesome design and I really wanna use it on my bands profile. But its impossible to apply it! After I apply it the whole “tophead” thingy overlays the “confirm design”-button! Any ideas on what to do?

Did you use Safe Mode to apply the code? On a band profile to apply anything out of the norm, for a layout, you have to use Safe Mode, otherwise it’ll mess up.

ALX has stated before that when he has the time he’ll study the 2.0 code. So I’m gonna assume he’ll update the layouts he has after he’s finished learning the 2.0 coding, and make them work for 2.0 aswell. Since it’s requested.

i love the layout. i have a question concerning the header. is there a way in which the header is the only part showing?

I’ve read through the comments and I somewhat understand about the “Darkness” graphic. I have successfully created one that I want in photoshop, but I’m not sure of exactly what code to put where.I know that I have to host it, but just not sure of the proper code and location. I love your layouts, been coming here for about a 3 months now or so, and every layout is just as amazing as the next!
I grabbed the code without the header, because I wanted to make my own very simple header, but when ever I put my image up there it goes to grayscale because of another code which makes al my images grayscale, if you know anyway I can keep all my other pics grayscale except for my header can you tell me?
If you could help me, it would be greatly appreciated, but of course you don’t have too, thanks!

Just a quick tip. If you decide to use Youtube for your video and want it to autoplay like it does from vimeo, you need to add &autoplay=1 at the end of your youtube url. For example:
http://www.youtube.com/v/XxUm1hzYWCA&hl=en&fs=1 would become
http://www.youtube.com/v/XxUm1hzYWCA&hl=en&fs=1&autoplay=1
Of course leave the sizing code at 306×377. Just a quick tip that I thought would help out.

This is by far the most fantastic layout, I’ve ever come across in my entire life. I do request that you add a more plan looking layout, with the option of adding a video. This layout is marvelous, but too “dark” for me. 10/10, regardless.

He stated that he’s tried that but it does leave parts at the bottom. It doesn’t remove everything below the top header. The images from the tables in the base code are still there. Of course probably removing those images might help, but I don’t know, I’m working on that myself. Once I have a fix for it, I’ll post it, to help out. I’ve tried the hide everything codes too, and it doesn’t hide ‘everything’ below the header like it should.

Well i’ve come to a problem… When i added the two links for the Add Friend and Message, the two Functions in the Contact Table worked but they don’t work at the top right corner of the Profile Page.. what am I doing wrong?

was wondering if there is a way to get rid of the background images for all of the “about me” and those type of sections so that just my images i have placed on the page are there on top of the main background. I went to school for this stuff but i grad in 2002 and really haven’t messed with coding since!!! That was money well spent huh!!! Mom would be proud, ha…….. any advice would be great!

Thanks Jason, but I still can’t work it out, I’ve found “mytitle” and I’ve entered my own text but I don’t see anything that relates to the size, like numbers for instance. I’m sure i’m bein well stupid here but could you explain exactly where.
Also on the strip where you enter info, i wanna put new paragraphs but it wont. What piece of code should I enter so that the text will start on a new line?
Lastly, how do I get the link tabs on the top of the page to link to what I want?

The code is not working on Myspace Music accounts. Even after uploading in Safe mode. The text in the “Memeber” “Website URL” “Sounds Like” and basically every section on the left side of a artist account is super tiny. So small you cannot read the text! Is there a code that we can change the size for theses sections? As the text is fine everywhere else on the site. Just the headings and info for all the box’s on the left side of the webpage.

About Me section for musicians… Not the header… I cannot figure out how to edit it.
I put the entire HTML code into MS word and I cannot find “yourmessagelinkgoeshere.com” anywhere.. I dunno if I deleted it or it’s simply not there.. I need a little help please!

Excellent layout! I can’t wait to get it up and running, and hopefully get the author some traffic.
I pretty much just started working with CSS today, and I’ve figured quite a bit out on my own, but I (and it looks like some other people as well), would like to know how to get something like the Big Picture or Big Picture F1 banner across the top instead of the “What’s Up?” dialogue and left justified picture/video space. I’ve tried combining the two codes in different ways, and have gotten close. However, there seems to be a table or tables around the banner that I’m just not familiar enough with to delete so that it flows well. For all I know it’s more complex than that, anyway.
I’m not asking for a recode, but it would be super awesome if someone could point me in the right direction to make this happen.

Hey Alex, Just wanted to thank you GREATLY for providing this site to people like me. Nowadays, hiring a web designer is costly so this was a great help, nice designs. I used your ‘darkness’ ‘grunge’ layout for my friend’s band and changed a few things around. I know nothing about html codes, but I figured out a few things. somewhat. so don’t laugh when you see the changes i have made, i basically did the whole trial and error procedure to get what i wanted. The one thing i have been struggling to get to work is how to change the font. I love the color yellow as the section titles such as “About Me” “General Info” etc “Title” but I was hoping to use the font Castellar size 24 bold. Can you help me do that? And the actual writing (the writing that goes below each section) can stay the same only slightly larger of a font size ? I hope you can get back to me asap, i see the last comment you had was in 2008, maybe ur still around??? crossing my fingers

HI I got a problem, I don’t know if you can help me, the image 2dtxeo0.jpg, do not load in the Myspace template, now the template looks incomplete, I have replaced it severals time but nothing happens, can you help me or anyone

Okay first of all you are a genius at Myspace layouts. I have a couple questions though.
1) I would like my logo at the top but dont know how to get one up there
2) I would like my header text name to be a bigger and different font but don’t know how
3) will you be offering this layout in different colors other than the bronze brown??

hey there Alex, your work is amazing! However I would like to know if there’s a possibility to add the BIG PICTURE image on the top of the Darkness template while keeping the video? Let me know. Thanks
